Our Story

FOR THE LOVE OF CHOCOLATE was founded in 1993 by James Kinard who found a passion for chocolate while abroad in Europe.  Originally named For the Love of Chocolate and the Candy Patch, our store was located at Colonial and Cary for 15 years before moving to our current location in Cary Court.

 

In 2020, long-time customers Ron and Elizabeth Vranas bought the store and are happily continuing the rich tradition of providing excellent customer service to the local community. 

 

For the Love of Chocolate is a one-stop shop for sweets ranging from hard-to-find international chocolate and nostalgic candy, to chocolate crafted by Virginia local chocolatiers. We even have walls of M&M’s and Jelly Belly jelly beans!
